WELCOME TO ANDREA'S RAMBLINGS
*************
Welcome to my site which will, I hope, afford you a chuckle or two.
Although I was born in London, I’ve been living and working in The Netherlands for the last 25 years.
I began writing as a child but when, in the early 70s, Flower Power reared its enticing head I upped stakes, left England, and spent several years travelling in North Africa, Spain and France. I finally surfaced, finances seriously depleted, in Amsterdam and began my Dutch career by selling my artwork on the street and in local markets.
After spending another few years struggling with the language (not the easiest one to learn), I started working as a translator. In such spare time I had, and in between raising two kids, I amused myself by writing humorous (so I’m told!) short stories and writing-related articles and conducting interviews, many of which, to my total amazement, have since been published in the UK, Canada and Australia and appeared in such illustrious publications as Buzzwords, Writers Cauldron, Voyage, Writers Muse, Plume, Asphyxia (AUS), Scribble and many others.
My articles and interviews can also be found on various websites, including, of course, UKAUTHORS,
My first book, Blood and Wine are Red, a collection of 40 humorous tales, has been published as a paperback, and I hope to have a second collection on the shelves shortly.
I take great delight in, and have no qualms about poking fun at the absurdity of human nature and this is reflected, I think, in my work.
I’m also Chief Exec of UK AUTHORS, an online Writers’ Resource and Showcase Site
In my spare time (!) I also run THE UKA PRESS, a small press, independent publishing house, publishing prose and poetry.
Please feel free to contact me HERE with any moans, groans, suggestions, observations and/or compliments.
